A physical buzzer runs a salon video loop

An interactive installation hosted groups of four visitors for British American Tobacco at the VAPE EXPO trade show. Inside an enclosed room, a large-format video required zero-latency synchronization with four sets of headphones. The studio developed the software in Unity to orchestrate the display, four Bluetooth headsets, and a physical buzzer. Pressing the button starts the projection for four people, followed by an automatic return to standby mode. A five-second long press forces a direct hardware reset of the system on the stand.

Bring in four people, start the experience, and reset the room seamlessly. The setup had to synchronize large-format video playback and audio across multiple headphones simultaneously. If the transition between the standby loop and the launch failed, the session would fall flat.

The approach

We developed the software in Unity to orchestrate this entire interactive installation. A standby loop runs continuously on the screen. As soon as visitors press a physical buzzer, the main sequence starts and streams audio to the headphones. At the end of the video, the system automatically returns to standby for the next group. In the event of an issue during operation, holding the buzzer for 5 seconds immediately resets the airlock.
