Engaging passersby without direct contact transforms a general public event activation. For its festive campaign, Orange wanted to immerse the public in the heart of the setting. The crowd was to trigger the animations through the simple movement of the body, without technical barriers or handling screens.

The challenge: capturing attention amid a dense flow of people. A participant's gesture had to respond within a millisecond to control the lighting scenography with no perceptible latency. The slightest delay between hand movement and the decor's response immediately broke the illusion.

Our approach

We developed an interactive application connected to a gesture recognition sensor. In front of the screen, visitors move their hands: the system analyzes their movements in real time. Our software transmits this data to the control room via the DMX protocol. The public thus orchestrates the scenographic lighting and visual animations with a single gesture. In parallel, we cleaned up the input interface by disabling autocomplete and history to ensure the reliability of continuous user turnover.
