Engie deployed an interactive augmented reality experience at its headquarters for its employees. The constraint required aligning 3D animations and sound effects with seven physical wooden panels. The studio developed a mobile application for six tablets, synchronizing visuals in real time with each marker. The system ran four mini-games and seven spatialized scenes, complete with a registration form and photo capture.

The system had to build engagement around the energy transition and new technologies without turning into an ephemeral gadget. The entire challenge lay in active participation: encouraging every visitor to create their profile, test their knowledge, and understand their carbon footprint through a seamless walk-through.

Our approach

At the entrance, participants create their profile with an avatar on a touch kiosk before starting the journey. The scenography is structured around seven wooden panels equipped with visual markers. By pointing at them with tablets, a mobile application reveals 3D animations and triggers quizzes. This gamification mechanic alternates impact calculations and short challenges. Further along, augmented reality glasses materialize carbon emission volumes. An articulated humanoid robot also invites teams to play games of tic-tac-toe. A back-office centralizes data to send everyone an email summary.

Results

The spatial alignment of the 3D scenes and sound design was validated in situ on the seven wooden boards. The entire setup functioned operationally on a fleet of tablets deployed at the heart of the Engie headquarters, ensuring the continuous welcoming of employees.
