The project

Commissioned by Highlab Marketing & Technologies on behalf of Paris La Défense, an augmented reality application was designed to enhance the presentation of the area through a physical scale model. Developed in Unity and deployed specifically on Magic Leap glasses, the experience allows users to move around the installation to trigger multimedia content via fixed spatial points of interest. The team ensured the seamless integration of 3D models and animations created in Blender, while optimizing the clarity of an interactive interface (HUD) displaying videos and slideshows in a mixed reality environment. The project concluded with the final installation and technical validation of the system, providing a stable and clear overlay of digital elements onto the real world.

Project description

Design and development of an augmented reality experience on Magic Leap glasses around a physical scale model for Paris La Défense. The application allows superimposing interactive points of interest on the model to trigger multimedia content.

Context and challenges

The end client, Paris La Défense, wanted to enrich the presentation of its territory through an innovative device combining physical and digital elements. The main challenge was to ensure a smooth and stable integration of 3D elements (HUD, animations) and to optimize the readability of media (videos, slideshows) in mixed reality headsets.

Key achievements

Development of the AR application in Unity with integration of 3D models and animations (FBX files from Blender). Creation of a user journey allowing to walk around the model with fixed points of interest. Implementation of an interactive interface (HUD) allowing to display details, play videos, and navigate through image slideshows.

Results

The final installation of the device was successfully completed and validated. Visual rendering and interface optimizations led to a smooth experience, resulting in the official closure of the project by the client.
