Real-Time Photo Clipping
The project
Capturing the attention of passersby in-store requires an immediate, frictionless visual setup. For this OPPO retail activation in the midst of heavy foot traffic, we had to integrate a live photobooth. The challenge: achieve flawless chromakey keying against a blue screen despite the retail space's lighting constraints.

The challenge
The setup had to operate without interruption in high-traffic aisles. The kiosks needed to compute real-time video cutout with no noticeable latency for the user. In the event of an in-store network outage, the activation had to continue recording data without blocking access or degrading the photo capture.
Our approach
In front of the vertical touchscreen, visitors discover an animated standby interface. As soon as they touch the screen, framing activates. A dedicated mobile application handles capture on a smartphone, paired with a live keyed video stream using TouchDesigner. A visual countdown sets the pace for the pose ahead of the confirmation screen. We synchronized capture and display using Node.js and OSC. Approved photos are then sent to a Symfony showcase website, where each participant can download their picture.
